UPDATE: Hey everybody, we just wanted to apologize for this story and give everybody a heads-up. PR for The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct have responded to the media regarding this terrible, terrible trailer, and it's been confirmed that it's a fan-made trailer piecing together content that was given to IGN. The Penny Arcade Report's Ben Kuchera explains in detail how these kinds of things can happen, but in the end, it's just plain old human error and we apologize for that. We'll be sure to post an actual trailer when it comes around!
In a world where TellTale Games' episodic The Walking Dead series exists, you can't just slap the name on anything and expect it to stick. Sadly, that appears to be what Activision is doing by putting developer Terminal Reality on The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct, which puts you in the role of the AMC show's Daryl Dixon in a very blah-looking first-person shooter.
As Ben Kuchera at The Penny Arcade Report points out, Terminal Reality's last game was the absolutely nightmarish Kinect Star Wars. Hey, maybe The Walking Dead will turn out ok, but I can't imagine why anyone would want to show off a game that's in such a shoddy state. We'll see how it fares when it arrives on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC this year.
