Moe Shochu Featuring Vocaloid Lily Offered in Japan

Hatsune Miku designer KEI draws moe labels

Using pretty moe girl labels on the bottle of alcoholic drink has been very popular in Japan. The latest one is "Moe Shochu Lily" which features one of the vocaloid characters Lily in oiran (courtesan) costume. The illustration for the labels is drawn by the original character designer KEI, who is famous for his design works for other popular vocaloid characters including Hatsune Miku, Kagamine Rin/Len, and Megurine Luka. Lily's voice bank was provided by yuri, the singer of m.o.v.e.

Shochu is Japan's indigenous alcoholic beverage and made from a variety of ingredients (fruit, raw sugar, grains or sweet potatoes). "Moe Shochu Lily" is made from barley and its alcohol percentage is 12%, much lighter than standard shochu's 25-35%. The price for the "Moe Shochu Lily" (300ml) is 1,200 yen (about US$13.70).
