VIDEO: Takashi Miike Teams Up With Death Note's Tatsuya Fujiwara for Revenge in "Straw Shield"

Fujiwara plays the target of a nation wide vigilante manhunt

Coming up this April on the ever packed schedule of prolific and often trangressive director Takashi Miike (13 Assassins, Ichi the Killer) is Straw Shield. The film follows what happens when pretty much all of Japan tries to kill a man, played by Tatsuya Fujiwara (Death Note's Light). In the wake of the murder of his granddaughter, a rich power broker takes out a series of ads promising a 1,000,000,000 yen bounty to the person who kills the killer.


Fujiwara plays a suspected but unconvicted child killer who comes under the protection of a police unit when the target of the vigilante manhunt in the adaptation of a Kazuhiro Kiuchi novel.
