Link Cleans Up in "The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker" HD Remake

High-definition version of GameCube classic heads to Wii U this fall

Another highlight of this morning's Nintendo Direct presentation was the unveiling of an HD remake of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. To help ease the wait for the next big Zelda game, Nintendo will be releasing Wind Waker HD on Wii U this fall.

Players will have the option to play Wind Waker entirely on the GamePad, and, while details were scant, Nintendo has other tune-up plans for the experience. Enhanced lighting will add even more vibrancy to the already lush cel-shaded graphics, and Miiverse integration will also be included.

It's been about ten years since Wind Waker was first released on GameCube. Despite divided opinions over the aesthetic, it appears it's emerged a decade later to a more favorable consensus. Look forward to more information on HD Wind Waker in the coming months!
