Some URL registrations started cooking up the rumor recently that XSEED Games would be publishing Suda51's Killer is Dead, and now the publisher has confirmed the action game along with plenty more. Other titles coming to the west include Rune Factory 4, Valhalla Knights 3, Ys: Memories of Celceta, and Ys I & II Chronicles.
Developed by Grasshopper Manufacture and Kadokawa Games, Killer is Dead will be released worldwide on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 this summer. Players take on the role of Mondo Zappa, who, with a Japanese sword in his right hand and interchangeable weapons in his artificial left hand, tracks down criminals and executes them. If you missed it, an English-subbed trailer dropped a couple weeks ago.
As for the other titles, Rune Factory 4 is scheduled to arrive on Nintendo 3DS this summer. The latest chapter in the series adds new romance options, the ability to choose between a male or female character at the start, and more.
Valhalla Knights 3 heads to PS Vita this fall, bringing with it "intense seven-on-seven party-based combat." Character options include seven races and twenty job classes such as Fighter, Mage, Thief, Priest, Archer, and so on.
Ys: Memories of Celceta reimagines Ys IV, and is scheduled to hit the west for the first time on PS Vita this fall. The story follows our hero, Adol Christin, as he finds himself alone in a strange land, attempting to piece together how he got there and why.
Finally, Ys I & II Chronicles hits Windows PC via Steam in February. Nihon Falcom's enhanced remake of the first two Ys games includes both Ancient Ys Vanished: Omen and Ancient Ys Vanished: The Final Chapter.
Looks like XSEED has a pretty solid 2013 lineup here so far. What are you looking forward to the most?
