So it looks like both Assassin's Creed III and Farcry 3 did preeetty, pretty good for Ubisoft. This should come as no surprise, but since sales were so strong for AC's latest chapter, Ubisoft announced the debut of a new Assassin in a new time period, with plans to launch the next game in fiscal 2014.
"We are delighted and proud to announce today that in financial year '14, we will introduce an all-new Assassin's Creed hero, within a new team and time period," said Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot. More details were promised "very soon," but for now that gives us a fairly vague idea of when to expect the next game, with the fiscal year running from April 2013 to March 2014.
As for those sales, Assassin's Creed III shipped 12 million physical and digital units, and its portable spin-off, Assassin's Creed: Liberation, shipped 600,000 units on PS Vita.
While we wait for more details on the next Assassin's Creed, the first chapter of The Tyranny of King Washington DLC arrives on February 19.
