Uta No Prince Sama campaign posters are appearing around 13 different locations in Japan according to their home town (except for a few, who are not from Japan!). The campaign started March 4th Japan time and photos are coming in on Twitter.
The campaign is titled "Hello! Japan! From Shining Production" and there are 4 projects in the campaign. The 1st project started today in Japan with posters at JR and other stations at Sapporo, Sendai, Oomiya, Ikebukuro, Nishifunabashi, Yokohama, Niigata, Nagano, Nagoya, Kyoto, Takamatsu, Hiroshima and Hakata.
Some photos are already being found on Twitter.
At each location, fans can scan a QR code found below each poster to receive a special message from the prince.
Sample of message you can get with the QR code found on twitter. Hand written message!
Project 2 is to distribute special fliers at stores like ANIMATE. Project 3 centers on posting a total of 57 posters at JR Shibuya station, which also started today. Project 4 is posting the biggest billboard of the franchise's history on Marui JAM building in Shibuya.
One Twitter user already spotted the poster at JR Shibuya station.
The franchise is promoting the characters as real idols instead of anime characters. One Twitter user said, "You can tell what the content is trying to promote by where they are advertising. Akihabara for Otaku content, Ikebukuro for Otome contents and Shibuya is for Idols". I have to say, their promotion is working.
