"Harvest Moon" Creator Reveals New Game Called "Hometown Story"

Yasuhiro Wada's current project previously went under "Project Happiness" moniker

Yasuhiro Wada, creator of the Harvest Moon series, has a new game in the works. Previously known as Project Happiness, the next game from Wada is now officially titled Hometown Story

Wada told Japanese gaming mag Famitsu that Hometown Story puts players in the role of a village merchant who works to connect with folks in the village and get them to come to their store. The game is nearly 60% complete, with work on the story comprising most of what's left.

Get a glimpse of the game, along with music by former Final Fantasy composer Nobuo Uematsu, in the announcement trailer below.

Though specific platforms aren't mentioned, Hometown Story is due out on portables in Japan. Natsume will follow that with a North American release, while Rising Star Games distributes in Europe.
