Rumor: Yu Suzuki Entertains Continuing "Shenmue" via Kickstarter

Series creator hasn't ruled out crowd-funding "Shenmue III" in some form

A recent interview with Shenmue creator Yu Suzuki—conducted by Sebastien-Abdelhamid for French television—might shed some light on the future of the series, which was left unfinished after the conclusion of Shenmue II. According to the report, it seems Suzuki hasn't ruled out crowd-funding via a service like Kickstarter.

Sebastien-Abdelhamid hopped on Twitter to mention Suzuki's interest in crowd-funding, adding that the continuation of Shenmue's story doesn't necessarily have to be confined to games. He's also entertaining the possibility of completing the saga through anime or manga.

Whatever form it takes, I just hope Suzuki gets his license and we eventually get to see this series properly conclude.
