Sixth "Resident Evil" Movie Planned for September 2014 Premiere

Star Milla Jovovich and director Paul W.S. Anderson return for more

If you had asked me back in 2002 whether the Resident Evil films would be a sure bet to return on a regular basis, I would have laughed. No way! But here we are, in 2013, with news of the sixth Resident Evil film looming on the horizon.

The next entry in the successful series—which doesn't sport a subtitle yet—sees star Milla Jovovich and director Paul W.S. Anderson returning, with a release planned for September 12, 2014. No details have been released on the story so far, but Anderson will likely start shooting this fall.

The last entry in the series, Resident Evil: Retribution, grossed $221 million worldwide.
