Health Gadget Maker Prepares "Evangelion" Pedometer Launch

Prove your love for an Evangelion by walking or travel a Tokyo-3 virtual tour

This month, health gadget maker Tanita will be launching a series of Evangelion pedometers featuring Rei, Asuka, Kaoru and the classic NERV logo.

They integrate with the Lawson Loppi point-of-sales machines and Sony's PaSoRi reader to track your process and for all sorts of bonus fun, including registering to win a NERV towel or body scale, and using your step count towards a competition to declare who is the most loved Eva character (points from the NERV model go towards Misato).

When the campaign fully launches, it will use the web site to offer a virtual walking tour of Tokyo-3, which was based on locales in Hakone, Kanagawa prefecture.

The pocket units sell for 3990 yen ($42.60).
