Anthrax Evokes Anime With "Big Eyes" Cover

Metal band covers songs from their favorite 70's bands

Metal band Anthrax is set to release a collection of covers of songs from their favorite 70's bands with March 19th Anthems. They've teamed up with Revolver to preview the EP with sample of their take on Cheap Trick’s “Big Eyes,” accompanied by a visual clearly meant to evoke anime.

The EP includes also includes covers of Rush’s “Anthem,” Thin Lizzy’s “Jailbreak,” “TNT” by AC/DC, Boston’s “Smokin’,”, Journey’s “Keep on Runnin,” plus the album version and a special remix of Anthrax’s “Crawl” from the band’s 2011 album, Worship Music.

Speaking of this sort of imagery, comic writer Kurt Busiek announced his superhero series Astro City is returning in a new ongoing, and revealed that the cast will be joined by kigurumi wearing superheroine American Chibi.
