"Mega Man Online" Bites the Dust(man), Officially Gets Cancelled

Capcom and NeoWiz Games bring online game's development to an end

The bell had been tolling for a while, but it looks like development of Rockman Online (Mega Man Online) is officially kaput. Both Capcom and NeoWiz Games decided to pull the plug on the online PC game, which was originally announced in summer 2010.

A teaser from that year:

Its cancellation seemed nigh when the official Rockman Online blog hadn't been updated since March of last year. After that, lead artist Kang Dong Hwa indicated the project was cancelled on his blog, but he didn't call it out by name. A NeoWiz spokesperson put the nail in the coffin when speaking to Korean site This is Game

"Both companies have continually discussed to find agreeable points on quality, development time, communication and etc. Ultimately, both companies have agreed to stop the development of Rock Man Online last early November."

R.I.P. Mega Man Online, we hardly knew ye.
