VIDEO: "Star Trek" Game Ad Gives a Shout Out to Original TV Series

Game release precedes the new movie on April 23

The upcoming Star Trek video game features Kirk and Spock battling against the Gorn, so it's appropriate that a new advertisement serves as a shout out to the original '60s TV series. William Shatner is in on the fun as he tackles the Namco Bandai published game alongside the classic depiction of the Gorn as seen in the "Arena" episode. Naturally, they don't stay co-op partners for long.

Star Trek: The Video Game will boldly bridge the gap between J.J. Abrams's upcoming film sequel, Star Trek into Darkness. The game hits PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 on April 23, and the movie premieres in theaters on May 17.
