NES-Style Platformer "Shovel Knight" Reaches Its Kickstarter Goal

Yacht Club Games currently developing title for PC, Wii U, and 3DS

In what's surely thanks in part to a solid showing at PAX East, indie NES-style platformer Shovel Knight has been fully funded over at Kickstarter with 12 days to go. Developed by Yacht Club Games—a studio formed by former WayForward staff—Shovel Knight is currently in development for PC, Wii U, and 3DS.

If you didn't see our last post on Shovel Knight, be sure to watch the video over at the Kickstarter page. It looks rad.

Shovel Knight is currently sitting at a total of $83,198, already well above its original $75,000 goal. Thus, it's now time for stretch goals, which include a music player, achievements, new game+, a playable boss knight, and more. Here's the full list so far.

Congrats go out to all involved! Now it's just a matter of waiting for the game to be finished.
