"JoJo's Bizarre Adventure" Author Endorses Robert Pattinson's "Cosmopolis"

Hirohiko Araki gives a thumbs up to Gucci dressed lead

For years, music was an evident inspiration for Hirohiko Araki's long running manga JoJo's Bizzare Adventure, but by the time 2001's Part V: Vento Aureo came around, fashion was obviously much on his mind. Along those lines, he's gone on to collaborate with Gucci, culminating in this year's JoJo display in 70 worldwide store locations. Well, Gucci is prominently in Cosmopolis. So, with the 2012 movie starring Twilight's Robert Pattinson hitting Japanese theaters this weekend, Araki has given it a thumbs up.

Araki, whose unaging appearance has led many to joke about his possible vampirism, weighed in for Team Edward, saying that the star was quite attractive as the movie's Gucci attired billionaire lead. He says that Pattinson helped anchor the movie, which he praised as a suspenseful work that sucked the viewer into an uncertain reality.

Araki's quoted praise does not mention director David Cronenberg, though his manga work has nodded to the Canadian filmmaker, best known for body horror work.
