"Ni no Kuni" Developer Level-5 Working on a PlayStation 4 Game

Studio behind Layton games and more dips into the new generation

With a new generation of consoles looming, it's always interesting to find out who's working on games for the fresh platforms. It looks like Level-5—the studio behind Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch, series like Professor Layton and Inazuma Eleven, and more—is doing just that for PlayStation 4, and hopefully they'll be providing more details in the near future.

Level-5 president and CEO Akihiro Hino mentioned the project during an interview with Nikkei Trendy. "It's still in the planning stages, but we are also working on a PlayStation 4 title," Hino said, adding that they might be able to announce it soon.

As for Hino's thoughts on Sony's new console: "PlayStation 4 is next-gen hardware built with the network in mind, so more than graphics performance and specs, we need to think about communication—how to use the network features."

Hino had some praise for PS Vita and its new price point in Japan, but added that it will also need to simultaneously release strategic titles to make a bigger splash in the market.
