Swimsuit Figure of Hitler as Bishoujo Idol Gets a Repainted Rerelease

Retia Adolf figure to be re-released in July

Fans of Japanese media will doubtlessly be familiar with the various works that depict the Sengoku Era warlords as cute girls from Oda Nobuna to Sengoku Rance.

Well, if you apply that irreverence to World War II and add sci-fi, you get Alicesoft's strategy eroge game Daiteikoku, In it, the Third Reich is ruled by Retia Adolf - a genius who neglects self-maintenance, but whose idols status is propped up by the doting affecting of Grecia Goebbels.

The character apparently has a following. At least enough that there are coffee mugs, cell phone straps, and multiple figures depicting her. Kaitendo is set to re-release theirs in July with a new color scheme (white swimsuit with black trim versus the other way around). The 1/8 scale figure goes for 7,500yen.

At what point to do you think these cute recastings of history go too far?
