Nintendo has already gone through several months of its 30th anniversary celebration featuring 30-cent downloadable classics for the Wii U, but there hasn't been any official word on the Wii U's Virtual Console... until now.
The first eight titles have been revealed, featuring a selection of classics from both the NES and SNES libraries. The launch titles are:
Balloon Fight (NES)
Donkey Kong, Jr. (NES)
Ice Climber (NES)
Kirby's Adventure (NES)
Super Mario World (SNES)
In addition to these favorites, Nintendo will be releasing critically-acclaimed classics Super Metroid and Earthbound at a later date, in addition to Nintendo 64 and Game Boy Advance titles. If I had to pick one N64 title and one GBA title, I'd probably pick... Mischief Makers and Ninja Five-O, because difficult platformers are awesome. What about you? Will you be grabbing any of these when the Wii U's Virtual Console goes live later this week? And if you could pick one N64 and one GBA title for future release, what would you choose?
