With the recent debut of Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal on Nicktoons, the US network has confirmed that they've licensed the entire Yu-Gi-Oh! library from 4Kids. The agreement covers two seasons of Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL, Classic Yu-Gi-Oh!, Yu-Gi-Oh! GX and Yu-Gi-Oh! 5Ds.
The deal was by Shinichi Hanamoto, chairman and president, 4K Media Inc., the newly formed, wholly owned subsidiary of Konami Digital Entertainment. 4K Media Inc. is responsible for managing the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise in all territories outside of Asia.
Kristen Gray, the senior VP of 4K Media, notes "The Yu-Gi-Oh! brand fits very nicely within the Nicktoons programming profile. Children all across the U.S. will now have a new broadcast platform to catch their favorite episodes and engage with the Yu-Gi-Oh! characters, especially those featured in the newest series, Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL."
Dragon Ball Z Kai and Dragon Ball GT were recently dropped from the network's schedule.
