VIDEO: "Wii Karaoke U" Jams Out to "Evangelion" Anime's Theme Song

Nintendo promotes karaoke game in Japan with "A Cruel Angel's Thesis"

Bolstered by the soulful voice of jazz/enka singer Aki Yashiro, Nintendo is dazzling Japan with promotions for its Wii U karaoke game, Wii Karaoke U. So what song have they chosen to promote with? Neon Genesis Evangelion opening theme "A Cruel Angel's Thesis," of course.

The collaboration with Joysound offers over 10,000 songs available to select via the Wii U GamePad. Wii Karaoke U charges by hour (¥100/$1), 24-hour (¥300/$3), 30-day (¥1,000/$10), and 90-day (¥2,000/$20) subscription periods. This is very much a Japan only thing, but we thought you'd enjoy the video, at least.
