Screens of Shinji Mikami's "The Evil Within" Game Look Plenty Freaky

"Pure survival horror" due out for PC, 360, PS3, and next-gen in 2014

Last week, Resident Evil mastermind Shinji Mikami's take on true survival horror was revealed as The Evil Within. What we got along with the reveal was a cryptic, disturbing live-action video, and now Bethesda and developer Tango Gameworks have followed it up with some freaky screenshots.

Formerly known as Project Zwei, The Evil Within is due out on PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and next-gen consoles in 2014. Tango and Mikami are aiming for "the perfect blend of horror and action," so expectations are understandably high. Hopefully The Evil Within manages to put the survival and horror back in, you know, survival horror.
