Gotta Go Fast in "Sonic Athletics" Treadmill-Based Arcade Game

Run in olympic style events at Sega's Joypolis in Japan

Sega's Joypolis mini-amusement park is getting a new Sonic the Hedgehog arcade game, and this one might actually inspire players to get in some exercise. Sonic Athletics is a treadmill-based game that lets up to eight players compete across three events: The 100-meter dash, long jump, and 110-meter hurdles. 


Players won't need to mimic everything happening on-screen—a button makes Sonic or one of the other playable characters jump when necessary—but it certainly offers more movement than most other cabinets aside from DDR



Could be fun so long as no one ends up looking like this.
