Cave Shooter "Ketsui" Gets a Limited Edition Release in Japan

5pb's port heads to PlayStation 3 with extras on July 25

Fans of famed shoot 'em up developer Cave's games have another special release to look forward to… in Japan at least. 5pb's port of Ketsui—the vertical shooter originally released in Japanese arcades in 2003—is getting a limited edition with a bonus Extra Mode and other goodies.

The limited release includes vertical (tate) mode—which lets players tilt their screens for a more faithful aspect ratio—for the purists, as well as anti-aliasing and gameplay-customizing options. The set will pack a Blu-ray with a super play video on it, showcasing a perfect playthrough of Ketsui that was recorded from the arcade version in 2003.

There will also be a two-disc soundtrack including tunes from Extra mode and the original game upgraded to stereo. The whole set will be released on July 25 for ¥10,290 ($104). The standard edition is priced at ¥7,140 ($72).
