2014 Anime Mirai Line-Up Announced

Half hour shorts will be produced to foster the talent of young animators

The Anime Mirai project has announced the latest rounds of proposals that it has accepted for funding. Ultra Super Pictures, A-1 Pictures, Shinei Animation and Studio 4°C will each receive 38 million yen from the Agency for Cultural Affairs funded Japan Animation Creators Association to foster the talent of young animators while producing half hour shorts.

Director: Yasuhiro Yoshiura (Time of Eve)
Producer: Ryousuke Inagaki (Samurai Champloo, Panty and Stocking)
Title: Harmonie

Studio: A-1 Pictures (Sword Art Online, Space Brothers)
Director: Ayumu Watanabe (Space Brothers, Doraemon)
Producer: Makoto Sotozaki (same)
Title: Ookii Ichiinensei to Chiisana Ninensei

Studio: Shin-Ei Animation (Doraemon, Crayon Shinchan)
Director: Kazuaki Imai (Doraemon episode director, animator on Summer Wars)
Producer: Maiko Okada
Title: Parol to Mirai Shima (tentative title)

Studio: Studio 4°C (Berserk movies)
Director: Naoyuki Onda (Berserk character designer/chief animation director)
Producer: Eiko Tanaka
Title: Kaze no Sorashita


15 studios submitted 17 proposals this year.


2013 shorts included Madhouse's "Death Billiards," Studio Trigger's "Little Witch Academia", Gonzo's "Ryo" and ZEXCS's "Aruvu Rezuru - Mechanized Fairies."
