"Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn" Launches in August, Collector's Edition Detailed

Special set comes with art book, soundtrack, and much more

The wait is over for the retooled Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn! Well, at least it's over for the release date, which has been revealed as August 27 on PC and PlayStation 3. That's not all, though, because Square Enix also showed off the fancy Collector's Edition that can be yours for a premium price.

The Collector's Edition comes in a box designed by legendary Final Fantasy illustrator Yoshitaka Amano, an 80-page "Art of Eorzea" hardcover art book, a special "The Waning of the Sixth Sun" bonus video disc, a "Sounds of Eorzea" album, five collectible character art cards, a security token to secure user accounts, and bonus in-game items in the form of the Helm of Light, Baby Behemoth Minion, Coeurl Mount, and Behemoth Barding.

Phew, that's a lot of stuff, and here's what it all looks like:

The Collector's Edition will be priced at $79.99 and $69.99 on PlayStation 3 and PC, respectively. Regular editions for both will cost $39.99 (PS3) and $29.99 (PC).
