Cosmetics Make-Up Artist Posts "Jojo's Bizarre Adventure" Photo Shoot

Award-winning cosmetic artist shows off results of year of work on manga tribute

Following a Tadashi Harada Everything ver.5.0 spring exhibit in Tokyo’s Meguro district, the make-up artist for the 140-year-old Shiseido cosmetics company, has posted a collection of work that includes a series of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure inspired photo shoots. The team, consisting of a photographer (Tohru Koike), stylist (Tsuyoshi Takahashi), photo retoucher (Eri Katou), and hair/make-up artist (Harada himself), worked on the manga-inspired project in 2010 and 2011 before taking a hiatus in the wake of the Tohoku disaster.

Harada hoped that the photos would be included in a Hirohiko Araki JoJo Exhibition that was going to be held in Sendai and Tokyo in 2012, but the timing did not work out. The “Tadashi Harada Everything ver.5.0″  show was organized after the 2012 Kapan Hairdressing Awards named Harada its Grand Prix winner for the second time in his career.

Featured characters from the Jojo's manga include:

  • Part 3: Jean Pierre Polnareff
  • Part 4: Josuke Higashikata, Rohan Kishibe and Akira Otoshi
  • Part 5: Giorno Giovanna, Bruno Bucellati, Leone Abbachio, Guido Mista, Secco, Melone, Diavollo
  • Part 6: Jolyne Kujo, Hermes Costello, Foo Fighters (F.F.), Weather Report
Considering how many of the iconic Jojo's images are inspired by fashion photography, this is very circular business...
