Phoenix Wright Returns to the Stage in "Turnabout Spotlight" Play

New play adapts the Steel Samurai story from Capcom's first game

Phoenix Wright and others from Capcom's Ace Attorney series are getting ready to return to the stage in a new play, Turnabout Spotlight (Gyakuten no Spotlight). An official website recently opened, listing the performance for a July 31 to August 4 run at the Rikkoukai Hall in Kitashinagawa, Tokyo.

According to the synopsis over at ANN, it looks like the play will adapt "Turnabout Samurai," the third episode of the original Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney game. While Ryūichi Naruhodo (our hero, Wright) and his assistant Mayoi Ayasato (Maya Fey) attend a performance featuring popular superhero Tonosaman (The Steel Samurai), a lantern falls and sets the stage aflame. Saburō Niboshi (Will Powers) is labeled a suspect, but he refuses to hire a lawyer, and is at the mercy of an audience full of eyewitnesses. Enter: Ace Attorney!

The cast listed on the website

Ryūichi Naruhodo AKA Phoenix Wright - Kentarō Kanesaki

Reiji Mitsurugi AKA Miles Edgeworth - Takuma Wada

Mayoi Ayasato AKA Maya Fey - Karin Ogino
