Tokyo Metropolitan Police Gets Moe Mascot Character "Tewatasanaiinu"

Half-woman, half-dog police officer works to secure peace in Tokyo

It has been a very common understanding among public organizations in Japan that moe characters are one of the most effective promotional tools for their activities. Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department's Crime Prevention Task Force has been featuring their own moe mascot character named "Tewatasanaiinu" through their official twitter account recently.

Her name is made by combining two Japanese words, "tewatasanai" (not passing/handing) and "inu" (dog). Tewatasanaiinu-chan with green hair and dog's ears mainly works as an interviewer to the MPD staff. How do you like her? Isn't she cute?
