"Code of Princess" Producer Wants Next-Gen Sequel

Producer hopes to reunite Guardian Heroes staff for possible sequel

Code of Princess could be considered a sleeper hit in the West, as the side scrolling 3DS beat 'em up recalls the days of games like Capcom's Final Fight and Sega's Streets of Rage with a heavy fantasy motif, with lower than expected sales in Japan notwithstanding. So when Siliconera recently inquired as to whether a sequel was in development, producer Yasuo Nakajima had this to say:

"Kinu-san (lead artist Kinu Nishimura) already has ideas about Code of Princess 2 in mind already," Nakajima replied. "If Code of Princess 2 goes into development maybe it will be for consoles like PlayStation 4 or Xbox One. I want to develop it a sequel to Code of Princess for core gamers like fans that are anticipating Dragon’s Crown now."

Nakajima also confirmed that the company that produced Code of Princess in Agatsuma has just finished working on another game and he will not work on a sequel unless he can reunite the team behind Guardian Heroes and other factors come together for the desired next-gen sequel on either PS4 or Xbox One.

Now, with all of that said, our own Nate Ming thoroughly enjoyed Code of Princess in his review of the game last year and since we both happen to be 12 year old boys at heart, have some Solange fanart and thank me later. If you've played Code of Princess, would you like to see a sequel on PS4/Xbox One?
