VIDEO: Sumire Uesaka Performs with Kabuki Rocks for "Genshiken: Second Generation" OP

Written and composed by a charismatic otaku singer/songwriter Haruko Momoi

Japanese record company King Records posted a short version promotional video for popular anime voice actress/singer Sumire Uesaka's 2nd single "Genshi, Jyoshi wa, Taiyo datta" (In the primitive age, girls were, the sun) on its official YouTube channel yesterday. The song will be used as the OP theme for the 2013 Summer TV anime Genshiken: Second Generation. The video features a Japanese kabuki style painted rock band Kabuki Rocks as her back band. Kabuki Rocks was formed in the late 1980s and best known for their best (only?) hit song "O-EDO," a cover of Kenji Sawada's hit song in 1980 "TOKIO."

Sumire Uesaka released her 1st single "Nanatsunoumi Yori Kimi no Umi" (2013 Spring anime Muromi-san OP) on April 24, 2013. The single took a very good 13th place in the Oricon weekly single ranking in its first week. The 2nd single "Genshi, Jyoshi wa, Taiyo datta" written and composed by Haruko

Momoi is slated for the July 10 release in Japan.
