"Nijiiro Prism Girl" Anime DVD Bundled with Ciao Shoujo Manga Magazine

Latest work from the creator of "Kirarin Revolution"

The official site of Shogakukan's Ciao monthly shoujo manga magazine announced on July 3 that the magazine will start including an anime episode of its popular title Nijiiro Prism Girl by An Nakahara in its supplement DVD "Ciao Ciao TV!" from the September issue. The issue is scheduled to be published in Japan on August 3. Nakahara is best known for her hit manga series Kirarin Revolution which was also serialized in Ciao from March 2004 to June 2009 and its TV anime adaptation series.


The story revolves around a protagonist girl Nijika Kohinata who is a 6th grade elementary school student. She is a daughter of the president of a famous talent agency. For some reason, she has kept herself away from the world of showbiz. But one day she has to act as a substitute of an extra. It becomes the start of her career as a professional actress. So far six tankoubon volumes have been released in Japan. Check the cover illustrations below.


23-year-old voice actress Arisa Nishiguchi voices Nijika. Her most famous anime role is Cule Zeria in Dakara Boku wa, Ecchi ga Dekinai. Ryota Aisaka who is well known for his recent voice work for Haruto Tokishima in Valvrave the Liberator plays Touya ichinose, a 14-year-old actor who lives at Nijika's house. The theme song "Dream" will be sung by 2&, a newly-formed unit for the anime.
