On July 6th, Gintama: The Movie: The Final Chapter: Be Forever Yorozuya opened on 127 screens. That's up from 90 on the last movie, and more than most anime, but less than the 200 for a One Piece movie and 400 for a Studio Ghibli film. With that, it sold 221,469 tickets, for a 281,859,900 yen opening weekend box office take. This was enough to place it fourth in the Japanese weekend top 10.
Monsters University (opening weekend, 660 screens), Fast & Furious 6 (opening weekend, 610 screens), and Galileo: Midsummer's Equation (down from #1 last week) ranked over Gintama.
