'Akira" Creator's "Short Peace" Anime Anthology Inspires Suda51 Game - UPDATED

The “high-speed effect action” 2D side-scroller set in modern Japan is being though of as the fifth part of the project

Here's some interesting creative lineage. Short Peace, the new anime anthology feature helmed by Akira creator Katsuhiro Otomo opens in Japan July 20th. According to an early look at the new Famitsu, Killer is Dead director Goichi Suda is working with Namco Bandai on an upcoming PlayStation 3 side-scrolling game, Ranko Tsukigime’s Longest Day. The “high-speed effect action” 2D side-scroller set in modern Japan is being though of as the fifth part of the project.

 

The game is being directed by Crispy’s and Tokyo Jungle‘s Yohei Kataoka. No More Heroes' Suda51 is writing the scenario.

 

In addition to a Koji Morimoto opening, anime elements of the anthology include
