EMI Records' special site for "Hikoukigumo," the theme song for Hayao Miyazaki's latest anime film Kaze Tachinu/The Wind Rises, posted a short version promotional video for the song featuring the singer Yumi Matsutouya (who used the name Yumi Arai when the song was originally released in 1973) and the inside of Ghibli Museum. This is the first official PV for the 40-year-old song.
The video is directed by Mami Sunada, who is famous for her 2011 documentary film Ending Note that focused on her dying father from cancer. This is her first music video and she has been working on a new documentary film about Studio Ghibli titled "The Kingdom of Dreams and Madness." The documentary film is scheduled to be released in Japan in 2013.
