VIDEO: Akira Yamaguchi x Gainax Dom Perignon "The Power of Creation in Japan" Installation

Dom Perignon has posted footage of their collaborative project with contemporary artist Akira Yamaguchi and anime studio Gainax. This "The Power of Creation” project will open July 26th with the launch of Dom Pérignon's Vintage 2004 in Tokyo.

 

 

Dom Pérignon : The Power of Creation - Japan is a project by passionate and talented Japanese creators inspired by Dom Pérignon. The creation will be revealed at the launch of Dom Pérignon's Vintage 2004 in Tokyo. Painter Yamaguchi Akira, known for his unique style combining Japanese traditional painting methods and modern styling with his exquisite technique, and world renowned animation studio GAINAX, have together produced an extraordinary experience in their creation. The 12 minute projection, shown on a 360 panoramic screen, is based on the concept of a revolving lantern, evoking the memory and feeling of the human spirit and the concept of time inspired by Dom Pérignon. The climax we see the figure of Yamaguchi Akira, painting the Abbey de Hautvillers, the spiritual home of Dom Pérignon.
Dom Pérignon The Power of Creation in Japan will be on public display at RESTIR」in Tokyo Midtown from July 26th (Fri.) until July 28th (Sun) 2013.
