Koji Seto and Kie Kitano to Star in Live-Action "Haganai" Film

Takuro Oikawa directs and adapts screenplay of 2014 adaptation

Toei revealed some new casting information for the live-action film version of Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai, AKA Haganai. Koji Seto and Kie Kitano are playing Kodaka Hasegawa and Yozora Mikazuki, respectively, in the upcoming adaptation.

Based on the popular light novel series written by Yomi Hirasaka and illustrated by Buriki (Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko), the Haganai film is directed by Takuro Oikawa, who also adapted the screenplay. Additional cast members include Mio Otani, Sara Takatsuki, Mao Kanjo, Sayu Kubota, Momoka Yamada, Rui Kurihara, Dai Watanabe, and Yoshizumi Ishihara.

Kodaka Hasegawa (Seto) and Yozora Mikazuki (Kitano) both find themselves lacking in the friends department, driving others from them in their own unique ways. Kodaka's light hair makes others assume he's a delinquent, while Yozora's sullen expression and mean attitude makes her similarly repellent. Thus, they form the "Neighbor's Club" (Rinjin-bu) with the goal of making some friends together.

Haganai completed filming in June, and is set to premiere in Japan in early 2014.
