Crystal Dynamics' recent reboot of Tomb Raider was surprisingly great, so it shouldn't come as any real surprise that the newer, tougher Lara Croft is coming back for more.
Square Enix's Phil Rogers confirmed that a next-gen follow up to this year's Tomb Raider is "well into development," also mentioning the upcoming Dark Horse tie-in comic written by Gail Simone (Birds of Prey, Deadpool, Wonder Woman). The comic's story is canon, and will tie the first and second game together. So far, there's no word on platforms or release window, but we'll be sure to keep you posted as more news comes around.
The Tomb Raider reboot was pretty solid, in my opinion, striking a good balance between stealth, platforming, and some truly vicious combat. All I could really ask for in a sequel would be more tomb puzzles and to remove "survival vision," because you have no idea how sick and tired I'm getting of "GO HERE! FOLLOW HIM! PRESS X!" What about you? What do you want to see in Lara's next adventure?
