Limited Edition Figure Presents Mash-Up of "Transformers" G1 Soundwave and Linkin Park

Band previously honored with limited edition Gundam model kit

Sometimes things get weirder with repetition. After their song "The Catalyst" was featured as the theme for a Mobile Suit Gundam Extreme Vs. game, American rock band Linkin Park were honored with their own limited edition "A Thousand Suns" Gundam model kit.

The 1/144 HGUC Gundam GP01Fb came with a beam rifle and shield that looks similar to the cover of the album as well as Linkin Park markings.

Now, three years later, the group is getting another mech figure. Following its preview at San Diego Comic Con, TFSource and RobotKingdom have started taking pre-orders for branded, limited edition Transformers G1 Soundwave. It will also be available at tour location.

According to  RobotKingdom, the figure, limited to 2000 pieces, is due September 21 for US$125. The set includes Soundwave in gold colored plastic and (fake) gold plated plastic with some black highlights. Similarly colored versions of Laserbeak (or is it Buzzsaw?), Ravage, and Ratbat are also included.
