As promised, Nintendo delivered on some new Pokémon X and Pokémon Y info in this morning's special Nintendo Direct presentation. One of the newest nuggets reveals that, in addition to a friend offering up a choice of Chespin, Fennekin, and Froakie in the beginning, classic starters Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle will also be available courtesy of Professor Sycamore.
This unforgettable trio of Pokémon each have their own Mega Evolutions, as well, which Nintendo shared in the video below.
Developer Game Freak director Junichi Masuda also announced a new 3DS app called Pokémon Bank, a pay service that lets players store up to 3,000 Pokémon in cloud storage. For an annual fee you'll be able to deposit and withdraw Pokémon from multiple copies of X and Y, and will also have access to a linked app, Poké Transporter, which makes transporting Pokémon from previous games an easier process.
