VIDEO: Second "Coppelion" Anime Preview

Post nuclear disaster anime planned for fall

Announced in 2010 and shelved in the wake of the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster, the anime adaptation of Tomonori Inoue's Coppelion is now slated to launch this October with GoHands' go to director Shingo Suzuki (K, Mardock Scramble) helming the production and Makoto Nakamura (the studio's Princess Love!) writing. 


The series is set 20 years after a 2016 nuclear meltdown devastated Japan. Haruka Tomatsu (Sword Art Online's Asuna), Satomi Akesaka (Mitsudomoe's Futaba Marui) and the ubiquitous Kana Hanazawa will play the three high school girls who were genetically engineered to be impervious to radioactivity and sent into the disaster area to look for survivors.


angela (K, Valvrave) will be singing the opening and ending.
