Tomokazu Sugita and Takuya Eguchi Added to "Pokémon: The Origin" Anime Cast

Naruto's Takeuchi Junko previously announced as Red

Cast has been filled out for the Pocket Monsters: The Origin TV anime special, based on Pocket Monsters: Red & Green games. Set to air  October 2, the anime is co-produced by OLM, Production I.G, and XEBEC features Takeuchi Junko (Naruto) as Red, Eguchi Takuya (SNAFU's Hachiman, Ixion Saga DT's Kon) as Green, Tomokazu Sugita (Gintama's Gintoki) as Takeshi/Brock and Katsuji Mori (Speed Racer, Gatchman Crowds' JJ) as Prof. Okido (Oak). 

 

 

The original games were released in Japan by Nintendo for the Game Boy in February 1996 as the first installments of the Pokémon game series. The anime will feature the protagonist boy, Red, and other characters from the original game. Check the PV and the key visual below.
