"Monster Hunter 4" Gets Mario & Luigi Costumes, Zelda Equipment

3DS entry is due out in Japan on September 14

Part of this morning's Monster Hunter 4 Nintendo Direct presentation detailed some of what fans can expect in the upcoming 3DS entry, including special costumes and equipment. Among those are outfits that deck Felyne characters out like Mario and Luigi, as well as equipment from The Legend of Zelda franchise.

As you can see below, Felynes will be able to dress up like Mario and Luigi, and those costumes will be available via Japanese 7-11 stores.

The fun doesn't stop with Super Mario Bros. Felynes, because Hunters will be able to dress up like Link from The Legend of Zelda. In addition to his iconic costume, Monster Hunter 4 will also have a Master Sword and Hylian Shield for close-range fighters, and Link's bow and arrows for those who prefer to attack from afar. Details on the downloadable set will be announced at a later date.

Monster Hunter 4 hits Nintendo 3DS in Japan on September 14.
