The original Ore no Shikabane o Koete Yuke (Over My Dead Body) game offered up a unique RPG experience involving party members who die after two years, passing their quest down to the next generation. A sequel retaining those themes is on its way to PS Vita, and Sony Japan recently unleashed a very slick animated trailer to promote it.
Director Shoji Masuda's sequel celebrates 15 years since the release of the original Over My Dead Body on PSOne. The first game's rapid aging was caused by a demonic curse, and while the protagonist could produce offspring to take up the fight after his passing, they too would be inflicted with the same curse. Killing the demon behind it is the only way to end the cycle of suffering.
Over My Dead Body 2 is due out in Japan next summer, and we should learn more about the follow-up at Tokyo Game Show.
