"Shantae: Half-Genie Hero" Secures Its Playable Risky Boots Campaign

WayForward's Kickstarter funding hits another stretch goal

Last week we passed along the good news that WayForward's Kickstarter for HD platformer Shantae: Half-Genie Hero was a rousing success. The good news keeps rolling in with four days remaining, because the campaign recently hit the stretch goal that adds a playable campaign featuring Shantae's nemesis.

Players will now be able to dig into two full campaigns, with the new one flipping the script and following the storyline of the villainous Risky Boots.

The Kickstarter is currently a bit over $500k, and the next stretch goal will introduce a Bonus Chapter to the middle of the game if it reaches $600k. WayForward also announced the final stretch goal, which adds fully animated cutscenes if a miracle happens and the funding hits $1.3 million.

There's still hope after the Kickstarter closes, though, since WayForward opened up a PayPal for further funding, which will be applied to all of the stretch goals. Half-Genie Hero is approved for development on Wii U, PS3, PS4, PS Vita, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC.
