"Robot Girls Z" Introduces Its Moe Getter Robo and Steel Jeeg

Classic super robots appear in shorts running this winter

Continuing to look ahead to winter series, the designs for two more moe versions of classic super robots, set to appear in Toei's Robot Girls Z shorts, have been revealed. 1974's pioneering combiner Getter Robo becomes Maaya Uchida voiced Gecchan, a tomahawk wielding tsundere, while 1975's Steel Jeeg becomes Minami Tsuda voiced Jeeg-san, who at age 20 is the oldest of the girls, and the otaku president of a doujinshi circle. 

The two will be reinforcement to the main Z team which includes:


1972's Mazinger Z -  Mariko Honda voiced Z-chan

1974's Great Mazinger - Inori Minase voiced Gre-chan

1975's UFO Robo Grendizer - Kazusa Aranami voiced Grenda-san


Adversaries include Aya Hisakawa as Ashura, Yukiko Morishita as Garada-chan and Nao Tōyama as Doublas-chan.


Other robot heroes include Mika Kikuchi as Minerva X, Kaori Takaoka as Gai-chan (Gaiking), Satomi Satou as Gacky (Ga-Keen), Ayumi Tsuji as Bara-tan (Baratack), and Chiharu Kitaoka as Dandan (Danguard Ace). 


After the newly posted episode zero, Toei will be presenting nine more episodes this winter. Hiroshi Ikehata directs the series with Kazuho Hyodo (NyarkoWagnaria) writing and Tetsuya Kawakami (Oreimo animation director) providing character designs.
