It looks like Zelda's tried and true formula is getting switched up a bit for the 3DS entry, The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds. According to Nintendo President Satoru Iwata during yesterday's Nintendo Direct presentation, players will be able to tackle the game's dungeons in any order they choose.
As Iwata explained, A Link Between Worlds features a special shop in which Link can rent or purchase key items that might otherwise be required to reach new areas. Now that items like the Hookshot and Hammer will be available at this shop, players will be less restricted in which order they choose to play the game's dungeons.
Most items will be immediately available at the shop from the beginning of the game, you just need to consider your destination and how much money you'll need to pick up the necessary tool. Despite some Miiverse speculation, the shop's owner is actually Ravio, not Nabbit from New Super Mario Bros. U.
The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds hits Nintendo 3DS in North America and Europe on November 22.
