AnimeJapan has been announced to be held at Tokyo Big Sight in 2014. The new convention is the combined effort of the two existing business conventions in the Tokyo International Anime Fair (TAF) and Anime Contents Expo (ACE). Due to the merger, TAF and ACE will be discontinued and the local government of Tokyo, which was the largest stakeholder of TAF will not operate AnimeJapan with next year's event.
The official site still only lists basic information for the event at the current time, but the sponsors listed are all big names in anime and manga industry. For example, the official Twitter account has posted greetings from Aniplex, Frontierworks and BandaiVisual on the announcement of the merged event. The following companies make up the AnimeJapan Executive Commitee:
Nunokawa Yuji, a chair of Executive Commitee and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of The Association of Japanese Animations says he would like the event to be recognized as the world's largest festival of anime content and is aming to have 100,000 attendees for the 2 day event.
