Manga Artist Masakazu Katsura Makes His Voice Acting Debut in 2014 "Tiger & Bunny" Film

Slated for the nationwide release in Japan on February 8, 2014

"Tiger & Bunny: The Rising - Super Prelude," a special event for the 2014 anime film was held at Makuhari Messe, Chiba Prefecture on October 12. The full voice cast joined the event, including Hiroaki Hirata (Kotetsu T. Kaburagi), Masakazu Morita (Barnaby Brooks Jr.), Minako Kotobuki (Karina Lyle), Taiten Kusunoki (Antonio Lopez), Mariya Ise (Huang Pao-Lin), Kenjiro Tsuda (Nathan Seymour), Go Inoue (Keith Goodman), Nobuhiko Okamoto (Ivan Karelin), Koji Yusa (Yuri Petrov), and Yuichi Nakamura (Ryan Goldsmith).

 

It was revealed at the event that the original character/hero costume designer of the series Masakazu Katsura made his voice acting debut in the film. Katsura is well known for his manga works including Wingman (1983–1985), Video Girl (1930-1993), and I"s (1997–1999). He said, "I was so nervous to death during the recording session. Though it is only one word, please watch the film and find my voice."

 

It was also announced UNISON SQUARE GARDEN performed the theme song for the film "harmonized finale."

After the announcement, they played the song on the stage for the first time. Previously, the three

member rock band's 5th single "Orion o Nazoru" was featured as the 1st OP theme song for the 2011 TV 

anime series. The release date of the single has not been decided yet.

 

Tiger & Bunny: The Rising will hit Japanese theaters on February 8, 2014
