"Mushi-shi" Manga's Special Return Leads into "Secret Project"

Director Hiroshi Nagahama previously brought up "secret project" last fall

Appearing at last fall's Ficzone in Granada, Spain, director Hiroshi Nagahama and animator Koichiro Sohtome mentioned that they were planning a "secret project," with less than subtle hints that a new Mushi-shi anime could be in the works. Now, the original Yuki Urushibara manga is returning for a special installment, and there's more "secret project" talk.

Two chapters of the manga will run in the January and February issues of Afternoon, out the 25th of November and December. Then, the cover packaging of the upcoming deluxe edition of the manga will feature details about the project. Those collections are due in November and December.

The Mushi-shi anime and Katsuhiro Otomo directed live-action movie were released in North America by FUNimation, while Del Rey released the original manga. The procedural follows an expert able to see ethereal beings called mushi and cure the ailments they cause.
